Botanical Society of the British Isles

Botanical Qualifications

The BSBI is running two Field Identification Skills Certificate tests this year - on Saturday 27th June and Thursday 16th July. It costs just £50 and lets you know just how good you really are at botany. With lunch thrown in, it is a thrilling day for any professional or amateur botanist. (Actually, most people say it is quite nerve-racking to be tested, but it is a valuable experience and fun, too). Visit Training to find out more. There are just a few places left (numbers are limited to 18).

For the more ambitious student, you can enrol for a Masters degree in Biological Recording.

Flora of Co. Donegal

H.C. Hart’s 1898 Flora of Co. Donegal is the latest of many old botanical works to become available electronically. The printed book is a collector’s item and costs upwards of £1,000, but here we bring you, for free, a beautifully and accurately digitized version produced by Mark Jannink.
