BSBI in Ireland

The Irish Committee represents botanists in both the Republic and Northern Ireland. The committee has close ties with the National Botanic Gardens at Glasnevin and Ulster Museum. At Glasnevin there are monthly meetings where botanists can bring specimens for identification. We also work closely with the National Biodiversity Data Centre to promote ecological work and recording in the Republic.

Irish Botanical News

Irish Botanical News was started, and has been edited, by Dr Brian Rushton, of the University of Ulster in Coleraine and published by the BSBI Committee for Ireland. From 2008 Paul Green will be taking over as editor.

It covers business relevant to the committee, field meeting reports and short papers on the flora of Ireland. Some editions can be downloaded here; the remaining ones are currently being digitized.
